HD-plasma cutting
PWS Industrial Cuttinghas one HD plasma cutting machine with a cutting capacity of 6x2.5meter. The machine is mostly used for cutting flat plates but we have also the possibility of using it for other purposes such as attaching a manipulator for cutting pipe.

Principle of HD Plasma Cutter
Plasma cutting is a heat cutting process whereby an electrical formed flame is between a wolfram electrode and a water cooled copper mouthpiece. Through this a gas is blown and by the heat of the flame, electrodes, ions and neutral parts. This plasma is very hot: 30.000 degrees celcius. The plasma cutter cuts extremely fast better than traditional cutting proceses. Other advantages are the better cutting quality and the narrow cut.

The ‘high definition’’ (HD) plasma cutter is a further development. The plasma radiation is so strong that the energy compactness increases two or threefold. Besides the plasma gas a secondary gas stream is supplied via a mouthpiece. This gas, a mixture of oxygen en nitrogen ensures excellent cutting quality and cools also the torch. For the précis cutting of carbon steel, oxygen is used and by non iron nitrogen is used. The HD plasma cutter is also used for more complex pieces of work because there is rarely a case of burr formation.
